I made the blog private for a whole day. lol
I have to find better time management skills. Because while I only blog during Bella’s nap, there is a lot of other stuff I need to get done. And it was a little depressing to realize at the end of the nap that I was just on here. But then yesterday, I had nothing to do. It took me a half hour to clean, dinner was made, no playdates – and it was rainy so no outside. With no TV, I just sat and thought about how much I missed my little blog.
Anyway, last night I was kinda bummed about shutting it down, and talked to Sam about it. I made the decision to make it private because I knew no one could get on it, and seeing that would make it less tempting to blog. Since no one would read it and all.
Sam talked to me this morning, told me he thought I should keep blogging since it’s my outlet and I really do love it. He said, “Um, if something is private then do the private post. And if you feel like you’re overwhelmed, don’t blog that day. Why would you shut it down and lose track of all the people that know you through it? You’re not on it but like an hour a day – and as far as I can see everything else is getting done. So keep it.” He is the best.
Some people run, some do yoga, some love to shop (I also love to shop), some like to sniff nail polish (I’m not judging) and I love, love, love to write.
I just got overwhelmed thinking about going back to work part time, and dealing with running the household, and blogging. But it’s my blog. So… I can post whenever I want – it doesn’t have to be every day, every other day, heck – every week. It can be as random as I want.
I know all of my family, most of my friends, and people from all over have kept up with us for months this way, and I want to keep writing. I also want to go to BlogHer ’11 with a blog. Not a Twitter account.
You know what? It was really cool how many of you emailed me asking what happened. Thanks for putting up with my BSC tendencies. If you didn’t know me better, you might think I too sniff nail polish.

Absolutely
& that’s the best attitude to have about it – when you want to write, then WRITE! If you have nothing to say, then don’t. The best thing I did was to “let go” of my blog a few months ago. & give myself permission to not write.
& the funniest thing about it? I ended up writing more. It was more heartfelt, more “me,” & more fun. I don’t even think people realized that I had decided to just step back from it because it seemed like I started doing more. But it became fun again, so it felt like less.
I know you’ll handle it perfectly.

First, I love you. I’d like to bottle you up and take you home with me to live. Thanks.
Second, that’s EXACTLY what happened and I thought perhaps I was crazy until I read this. The moment I gave myself permission to blog whenever, it was like I had 500 ideas hit me all at once for posts. I got excited about blogging again. I am so glad you feel the same way.

So glad that you’re going to keep blogging! Sam is soooo right. It’s your outlet and for your man faithful readers it’s our outlet too. And whenever you write…however infrequent it may be…know that we will all be tuning in!

I was wondering why I couldn’t log on. Thanks for coming back. Even if I may not comment much, I read your blog faithfully and find much comfort in our similiarities. Thank you for being willing to let us into your world.

Thanks Desi.
That means a lot.
I am so glad. I understood when you explained why but I was still pretty bummed.
I see you on FB and here, and Twitter – but it’s not that much. Writing a blog post takes, what? 15 minutes? Facebook is on and off through the day for everyone, I do it with my kid right next to me. I type in 3 sentences and leave. And Twitter? Well, we both do that from our phones, so really anywhere I can send a little thought or photo.
I had the same thoughts as you one day, added it all up, and it came out to a little under an hour I spend on here. I say, if that’s your stress relief and love, then by golly, that isn’t much time and it’s well spent.

That was really nice to hear about the time – I figure you’re right – but since it’s spread out it seems like a lot more.

Since I have gone back to work I dont get to blog nearly as much as I would like to but I try to make the time to at least do a wordless wednesday post or just a little post reminding me of all the fun we had over the weekend. It keeps me in it and keeps Sugar Plums baby book going forward.
You would probably laugh at how much time I spent trying to log in to your blog – I was so confused…I went back and dug up your email with the password, but of course it didn’t work. Duh. Private blog. Didn’t even think of that. Anyhow, I’m glad you’re back

I know exactly what you mean. Things have been really hectic in my life and thus my blogging has gotten sporadic. I’m so glad you’ll keep blogging as you like. I’ll be stalking regardless : )
As a random thought, I was just thinking, I can’t believe bella is going to be almost 1!!!!!! Where does the time go!
