I’m not a “purse” person. Like – I love purses. Don’t get me wrong – I LOVE THEM. But for some reason, they seem to be a luxury I never want to spend money on. I know what I want/need in a purse and it prevents me from buying a new one very often because the kind I like cost a ton. I need a beautiful purse that is also made for a mom of a toddler – but that is also fun and not stuffy.

So when Gussy Sews contacted me about writing for one of her “What’s in Your Bag?” series, I jumped at it. She has absolutely adorable bags that fit my life, needs, and budget. Each one is hand sewn and after having my last one a full year now – I can say that I love how they hold up to what I put it through.

Also they are total eye candy.

So the fun part of this is to empty your purse {without cleaning it first} and go through what lives/grows in there right then.

Eeep! I clean mine out every so often but quite honestly – within just a few days it’s a giant mess again. I had her new, beautiful Market Tote to try out for a few weeks before doing this, so it gave me plenty of time to build up the stuff I didn’t need.

I love how roomy it is. So much space to keep throwing stuff in! And a neat little pocket for my cell phone so I can actually find it when it rings and not search through my purse while things fly out and I say bad words under my breath.

I mean. No.

Anyway…

Starting at the top left:

• Bella’s immunization record. We seem to need it at the most random times so I started carrying it with me.
• First aid kit.
• Gussy Sews medium zipped pouch I bought with her bag last year for BlogHer ’11. {I keep all the little loose ends in here.}
• A Baskin Robbins coupon
• Shopping list from the week before. #WIN
• Sunscreen stick.
• Keys.
• Wrapper to something…
• Altoids. Bella calls them “spicy’s.” She also always wants one but refuses to eat it. Just holds it in her hand.
• Pen. There until I need it.
• Mascara. No idea how that got in there or when. Or why.
• Checkbook. I don’t do checkbook covers because I don’t care.
• Squeezable applesauce for Bella’s emergency snack attacks.
• A contact. Please tell me someone else has the fear of one falling out/tearing and having to go ALL DAY away from home with only one eye being able to see.
• Checks for writing I really, really need to deposit.
• My wallet. Target – love it.
• Bella’s fork and spoon for times we stop for lunch or dinner unexpectedly. Makes life a lot easier to have her eat with these.

That’s it! That’s what’s in my bag. Whew. Not too big of a mess. Right?
