My poor Facebook friends are probably so sick of hearing about this. Well, guess what? You get a whole post on it now too.

Friday I got the most amazing email from my Babble editor. It started off about a Disney cruise and for a moment I thought about marking it as unread and coming back later on. It sounded like some kind of campaign or post they wanted written and we were in the middle of errands.

Then I realized it was actually to me, which was odd because most of those are to all the writers as a whole. So I started to read and my head blew off.

Honest to goodness. Headless in Target.

Basically the email asked if I would be interested in taking a Disney cruise in 2 weeks on the new port out of Galveston with Disney Magic.

I think we can all assume what I responded.

Sam couldn’t go (too soon) so it was just Bella and I that would be traveling.

On Monday I received the confirmation about it all, complete with words that every writer dreams of hearing. “Media Pass” “On board amenities” “Off shore pass” “Twitter hashtag” <— lol at that one

Also the hashtag is #DCLTexas just in case…

All I could think about was, “This is not happening to me.”

Oh my friends, it most certainly is. Next Friday, Bella and I will leave to go on a 7 night cruise thanks to Babble and Disney to the Western Caribbean where we will get to interact with dolphins and baby sea turtles in the Caymans, walk the villages of Cozumel, and lay on the beaches of Grand Maya. Then I’ll come back and write about it all on Babble complete with pics.

DO YOU HEAR ME SCREAMING???

Don’t think that because of what’s happened the past year to us I’m not pondering, “What if this ends up like the Titanic because I’m on it…” O_o But honestly, I’m just SO thrilled to do this, to get away for a while, to relax, to make memories with Bella that don’t include me being sick or sad. I can’t wait to spend some mother/daughter time with her as we go the pools, visit Mickey and Minnie, or just relax in our room.

I’m going on a cruise. Because I write. HOLY.FREAKING.AMAZING.
