The Cruise in ALL.ITS.GLORY

Thursday, November 1st, 2012

I’ve been terrible about updating about the cruise. You know me and being so overwhelmed with something I can’t write about it at first.

But I finally did!

I included my favorite pics and moments, even embarrassing ones. I plan on doing an entire series of how to cruise with Disney, from savings to packing and everything there is to do on board. The good, the bad, the FANTASTIC.

So please to enjoy part one of an overview of the cruise Bella and I took. Click here…

OMGOODNESS.

We had an amazing, amazing time. I don’t even know where to begin. The cruise, the islands, the sea turtles, the food, the room service, the pools, THE SPA…

Everything was incredible. Since Babble and Disney (who owns Babble) sent me, the majority of it all will be over there (hence the reason they sent me), but until I get pics loaded and an idea of how to explain it all so that it makes sense and helps people who are thinking of taking a Disney cruise, I’m going to just leave it till next week.

Activities for Long Drives with a Preschooler

Tuesday, October 16th, 2012

On Friday, Bella and I will road trip to San Antonio – a 9 hour drive. Just the drive. That’s not including pee and lunch breaks. Then the next day will be about 4 1/2 to get to Galveston.

You know.

For the cruise.

Oh? Did I mention that? Going on a Disney cruise?

Sorry. :p

I need ideas of things to do with her while driving. Things she can do on her own as well. Because my friends?

That is a heck of a long ways with just her and I while my hands are rendered incapable of doing anything but volume control and tossing back food.

O_o

We do not have a TV in the car, but I’m thinking a portable DVD player may need to be bought. Although I’m trying to figure out how she can set it on her lap without it sliding off, or being able to touch buttons that stop the movie?

Any ideas for baskets that are high enough up to her carseat or attach so she can grab food/books/toys herself?

Books on CD we both can listen to?

She is forward facing at this point because she reached the rear facing weight limit (Thank the sweet Lord for that one right about now) so I can hand her things on my own.

I’ll take any and all suggestions.

Just CRUISIN’ Along.

My poor Facebook friends are probably so sick of hearing about this. Well, guess what? You get a whole post on it now too. :)

Friday I got the most amazing email from my Babble editor. It started off about a Disney cruise and for a moment I thought about marking it as unread and coming back later on. It sounded like some kind of campaign or post they wanted written and we were in the middle of errands.

Then I realized it was actually to me, which was odd because most of those are to all the writers as a whole. So I started to read and my head blew off.

Honest to goodness. Headless in Target.

Musings Elsewhere

Sunday, October 7th, 2012

We have a rather big week coming up in a few different ways, which I’m linking to here.

Also? How many times have I written on here about wishing things were nice and quiet for a while only to have life tip upside down? Perhaps God has opposite days and my wishes fall on those…

Anyway, this past week I wrote on Babble about our adoption and the mess that isn’t going to be Korea. :( But hoping so hard God has something else in mind for us with adopting internationally.

Then on Military Family I wrote on vacationing while in the military. How do you plan time away knowing that your trip could very well end up just you and the kids or not going at all if your spouse’s job dictates that?

Then a lot of the time I do short updates on Facebook, so if you have an account and don’t mind the occasional post from me on your wall, you can find me there.

Hoping you all have a lovely long weekend. We plan on going pumpkin picking today, and playing outside in our dinosaur pajamas. Obviously.
