Easy Ways to Find Your Genetic History – and the Life Changes it Could Make

Thursday, June 13th, 2013

I had genetic testing done in the early second trimester of this pregnancy. My OB was looking for anything that might tell us why my past 2 pregnancies were so hard physically and ended earlier than normal.

Turns out, I have an MTHFR deficiency, which you can read more on here. Quite honestly, I still have a very basic understanding of it all even after lots of questions and research. While it doesn’t appear to have had any impact on Bella or the twins, it could have this pregnancy. I was placed on medications to reduce the risk even less, as well as special prenatal vitamins.

Things I Can’t {Style} Without: Mom Edition

Friday, December 7th, 2012

I adore Stitch Fix. Here’s why: I’m not a shopper. I’ve admitted it on here before. I just hate going into stores and wandering through aisles, going into dressing rooms, trying to match pieces with other pieces and ending up in with a huge headache from it all.

Yet there is a part of me that does want to look dressed up – not always the mom in jeans and a Target shirt (not that there is anything wrong with that. Target for life.)

So then I found out about Stitch Fix and my style life changed. Basically you go to their site, fill out some questions about your current style, what you want your style to be, what your body shape is, colors you like/don’t like (nix on the leopard or neon), choose a few outfits from some Pinterest type pics, add your budget, and schedule a “fix.”

Perfect for Homeschool and Craft: Natural Earth Paints Review

On the days we have preschool at home, we do a craft after story. This can include all kinds of things from drawing to cutting to gluing, but the one thing Bella loves the most is painting. Always has. My dad is a painter and Bella has taken his love for colors on from an early age.

Also – what kid doesn’t like to make a mess?

That face. I don’t even know. I think she was in mid-nail bite.

So you’ve seen me post before on activities we do during our preschool time at home. I was thrilled when Leah from Natural Earth Paint sent us the Children’s Paint Kit to use. It came in the cutest little packages with six biodegradable mixing cups and six colors of hand-crafted earth paints – red, orange, yellow, green, blue, brown. Earth Paints are certified organic and non-toxic, a far cry from the ones in the plastic bottles with colors that never come off the kid’s hands.
