I’ll admit that I love being told I’m a good mom or doing a good job raising Bella. Who doesn’t like to hear that? But what I don’t love is when someone tries to congratulate me with a backwards compliment or insult to a working mom. Because that, my friends, really torks my monkey.
Like the PA in our old doctors office who wondered why Bella had croup so often last year. She asked if I had Bella in daycare, and I replied I stayed at home with her.
“Good for you,” she replied nodding. “Best thing you can do when you have children, what a great choice.”
Tracy from Liberating Working Moms has popped by to give you a run down of her blog; the purpose and passion behind it. A place for working moms to connect and share, her hope is that some of you would consider putting your stories out there for other moms to read.
Greetings Hormonal Imbalances readers! I’m so grateful to Diana for allowing me to share with you some information about my bloggy project I’ve got going on. Diana is for sure one of the most supportive blogging friends out there, and of course I jumped at an opportunity to write a little ditty about Liberating Working Moms.
Liberating Working Moms, newly launched July 18th, 2011 (Of course I know the exact date. It’s like my second baby after all.), is a place for working moms to come together to share what works, what doesn’t, and what’s best for right now. Included are moms who work outside of the home, and those who work from home (Have you seen Diana’s post here about transitioning into a WAHM status?). I don’t think it’s any secret I love a clean, tidy, organized home.
Every since I started this blog, that’s been one of the things I’ve talked about on and off. There are times it’s gotten me in hot water, others when I’ve learned letting go is the best thing I can do at the moment. I’m so flippin’ exhausted.
Sam is gone all week. This is the second week of it and we have one more to go. He comes home on the weekends and then, because he’s been working 24 hours a day for 5 days, he wants to relax and I want to as well and Bella does not.
Bella is being awful. This morning she pulled my hair so hard that I almost came uncorked. I hate when she does that. Then at Gymboree she did it again while I was holding her, and refused to stand up when I put her down. So she ended up falling on the floor while I tried to catch her and it looked like I shoved her to the ground. Another mom threw me a dirty look.
I'm opinionated. Sarcastic. A SAHM. Christian. A proud Army wife. I love to write. I'm crazy about cloth diapers. I struggle with anxiety.
My husband Sam is my high school sweetheart and the love of my life. After nearly 9 years of marriage we've faced PTSD, a war, alcoholism, and moving to a place we never wanted to be but ended up liking. God has continually blessed us in moving here.
One of my biggest joys in life, Bella, was born 11/09 and we're pregnant with our second - and third! That's right - twins!
I tend to emotionally dry heave on this blog from time to time - you've been warned.
