I’m having a midwife. For my hospital birth.

I wasn’t going to write this post quite yet. At 5 1/2 weeks it seems a little early to blog on how you plan on delivering your child 8ish months from now.

But with Twitter inquiries, questions from friends and family, and the fact that I had my first appointment yesterday; I’ve come to realize it’s something almost everyone wants to know when you get pregnant.

5 weeks pregnant – and Hormonal Imbalances

I’m kind of blindly updating my weeks as I go until I get a definite date – but it’s about as close as I can make it. As far as I can tell, I was 5 weeks yesterday. My baby is the size of an apple seed.

Aw.

I’ve got the usual symptoms – heartburn, peeing frequently, nausea, heightened sense of smell, headaches, dizziness, and mood swings. Thankfully the nausea hadn’t included any throwing up. Yet. I can totally handle this feeling of just being queasy.

Couple of funny things: remember how your first go around with pregnancy everyone ::coughTheBumpcough:: told you there was NO WAY you could already have to pee so often because the baby was so small? I read this the other day, and it explains that you actually do:

Guess What? {TTC update & an italic overload}

So you all know we’re TTC with the FAM method (charting/temping). Since Dec. 8th I’ve hunkered down and started charting for reals. And this past week I’ve been:

exhausted

achy

bloated

hungry ravenous

having to pee all the time

gassy (that’s just plain delightful to Sam – payback honey)

irritable

breaking out like I’m 15

and I have sore boobs.

Sam is having the time of his life.
